Towards an Understanding of Self and Others
Welcome to Our Psychotherapy Practice
We exist to provide client-centered, research-based, professional clinical care to the scores of hurting children, adolescents, and adults. We endeavor to meet bio-psycho-social-spiritual needs of individuals through the lifespan; with additional emphasis on corporate wellness, sport psychology, and healing for healthcare heroes.
Intake Session
Our team is standing by to set up your appointment. We will make every effort to match you with a professional psychotherapist based on your personal needs. The first step in treatment involves an initial consultation appointment. During this visit, you will discuss presenting concerns and relevant background history so that we can offer the best course of action for your specific needs.
All consultation is done by appointment only.
- Intake: approx. 60 min.
- Psychotherapy: 45-53 min.
- Psychological Assessment: Hours vary depending on need
Corporate Wellness
At Truman, we understand the complexity of running a profitable business and simultaneously ensuring your teams are well-cared for. Whether you have 3 employees or 3,000, the preventative investment in corporate wellness in your workforce produces research-proven relational, cultural, and financial dividends. Truman realizes no two companies (or two people) are alike and so we uniquely tailor a corporate wellness plan that fits your needs and budget. To see how we can help, please reach out to contact@trumanhealth.org to start the conversation.

Health Insurance Coverage
Some of our clinicians accept Highmark, Capital, and Quest. It is the client's responsibility to check eligibility and benefits should they wish to use their health insurance.
We also offer a self-pay option.
Insurance companies vary considerably with the level of reimbursement for psychotherapy. We strongly recommend that you obtain specific confirmation in advance from your insurance company regarding coverage.
If you are paying out of pocket for psychotherapy, full payment is expected at the time of service.

Solace for Surgeons™
Problem
- Surgeons experience significant symptoms of psychological trauma https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10134724/
- Surgeons compartmentalize these experiences; not sharing with peers, family, or psychologists bmj.com/content/362/bmj.k3303/rr
- Suicide rate of surgeons/physicians is highest of any profession

Solution
- Dr. Kuehner and the clinical team at Truman Counseling Services has had the privilege of walking with surgeons individually to process trauma experienced with their occupation. Each surgeon has indicated that they have never discussed their experiences with others. Over time, each surgeon manifested debilitating psychological/physiological symptoms as the ability to compartmentalize weakened over time.
- Dr. Kuehner decided it was time to care for our surgical superheroes in a more intentional fashion and thus SOLACE FOR SURGEONSTM was launched as part of the practice.
SOLACE FOR SURGEONSTM provides:
A safe, completely confidential space for surgeons to begin to unload and process through trauma experiences they have been carrying. This takes the form of individual psychotherapy and/or group psychotherapy with other surgeons (with in-person or virtual options).
